Yum Cha Chinese Kitchen & Bar

10/10 food, service and ambience! We ordered several dim sum, entrees, and dessert to share as a group of three. The portions were generous, especially the hot stone porcini mushroom rice. My favorite was the sweet and sour ribs—so flavorful. The location is convenient, just blocks from Washington Square Park. The elegant space and comfy booths made the meal even better. I’d definitely recommend Yum Cha for a delicious and relaxing dining experience.

Yum Cha is a great spot for elevated comfort Chinese food, dim sum, and drinks. The Pomelo Tea and Strawberry Probiotic Bliss were refreshing. I liked the Chicken Soup Dumplings but wished for more soup inside. The Steamed Pork Buns were soft with plenty of filling. The Stewed Tofu with Minced Crab was silky and paired well with rice. For veggies, get the Stir Fried String Beans with Minced Pork. The Braised Beef Noodle Soup and Crispy Fried Milk were excellent too.

This cozy basement restaurant serves standout Jiangzhe-style dishes with Sichuan and Northern touches. The Little Oil Eel Threads were crispy and flavorful. The Squirrel-Shaped Mandarin Fish came with a sweet-savory sauce, and the Shanghai Greens were tender and rich. Every dish impressed with authentic flavors and fair prices. The open bar adds a lively vibe, and the staff is friendly and attentive. Conveniently near the subway and NYU, this is a must-visit for quality Chinese cuisine.
